Use retention loss as a scenario, not a forecast
No calculator can know how clients will respond to a price change. Instead, test several retention cases: no lost bookings, a small loss, and a deliberately conservative loss. Then compare the result with your available capacity and the sustainable price from the service pricing calculator.
A fully booked technician may accept fewer appointments at a higher sustainable price and recover time. A technician with open capacity may prioritize retention and use smaller, better-explained adjustments. The right decision depends on demand, service quality, client mix, and whether the old price covered costs in the first place.
Communicate the reason clearly
Give clients advance notice, publish the effective date, update booking pages consistently, and describe improvements or cost changes without apologizing for running a viable business. Avoid promising that every client will stay. Track actual rebooking and average ticket after the change, then compare it with the scenario you modeled.
